My back hurts! I woke up Monday and didn't wanna move. Tuesday, and Wednesday morning, weren't much better. It was starting to feel 'better' Wednesday night and today hasn't been too bad but 'better' isn't the same as 'fixed'. Guess I'll have to take the plunge, and finally break my years of avoiding it, and go see a doctor for something other than colds.
I haven't ever had a doctor to call my own, I've always just gone to a 'doc in a box' through the local MEA but this back thing along with some other miscellaneous aches and pains has convinced me I'm finally old enough to be an adult and take my medicine. Now I get the fun of figuring out how one goes about getting a doctor. Ugh...Guess it's time to pick a side on the whole 'socialized medicine' debate.
The thing that really pisses me off is that I didn't DO anything to hurt my back, it just started this mess on its own.
Well I actually surprised myself yesterday. I had made a promise to myself that when the time changed and there was actual daylight around when I get home from work I'd start walking around the neighborhood again and I actually DID it!
My right knee has been bothering me for around two-three weeks now. I have NO IDEA what is wrong with it and I have had the physical activity of a slug for the last two months so I don't see how I could have hurt it. But by god when I bend it, it hurts like a bone bruise or something in the joint. I was able to walk around a mile yesterday on it with no problems though. It seems to hurt after I've been sitting for a long time, so hopefully walking on it will be good for it.
Anyway, I have managed to lose around 15-20 lbs in the last six months, I'm around 183 lbs now and I still wanna shoot for around 175 so hopefully the walks will eventually turn into jogs but I won't ever run. I don't really like jogging either but sometimes I get impatient while walking and jog to get it over faster. We'll see. Hopefully I can keep it up. Of course, I think I need some new pants and belt now. But getting SMALLER sizes sure beats the hell out of getting LARGER sizes like the last oh, 20 years or so.
